Sudhir Mishra’s Upcoming Bollywood film Daas Dev will release on March 2
Do you remember Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s love saga "Devdas?" Sudhir Mishra is giving a modern take on the Bengali classic novel `Devdas`" by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay and named it as Daas Dev. After the announcement that the much-awaited film `Padmavati` will now release as `Padmavat` on January 25, National Award-winning filmmaker Sudhir Mishra has pushed the release date of his upcoming film `Daas Dev` to March 2.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s film follows Devdas, a wealthy law graduate in the early 1900s, who returns from his studies in London to marry his childhood sweetheart, Paro. However, the rejection of this marriage by his own family sparks his descent into alcohol, ultimately leading to his emotional deterioration and him seeking refuge with a prostitute, Chandramukhi.
The Sudhir Mishra’s Daas Dev, features Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Rahul Bhat in lead roles and was earlier planned to release on February 16. Mishra, who also vocally supported `Padmavati`, said in a statement: "The entire team is thrilled with the news of the official release of `Padmavat`. We have all rooted in this decision and as a fraternity are happy the film is coming to theatres soon. So in lieu of that and to ensure our film too receives its share, we considered and finalized the push to March 2. Now we are all gearing up for the new date and will put it all energies towards it".
The release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat on January 25 has caused other Indian filmmakers and production houses reshuffling the release dates of their films. March 2 is also the day Anushka Sharma’s home production Pari will be released. The Prosit Roy-directed horror film was initially supposed to be out on February 9. Other Hindi films, including Tarun Mansukhani’s Drive and Vishal Pandya’s Hate Story 4, as well as the Hollywood film Red Sparrow, are scheduled for a March 2 release.
Neeraj Pandey’s thriller Aiyaary, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee, was at first scheduled to clash with R Balki’s Pad Man on January 26. It is now being released on February 9 alongside Luv Ranjan’s comedy Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
