Padmavati Release Confirm: Release on 25th January 2018 as “Padmavat”









Finally, Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s `Padmavati` will see the light of the day. After facing so many hurdles, several delays and uncertainties, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial Hindi film Padmavati will finally release on January 25. The period drama will now be named after Malik Muhammad Jayasi's 16th Century epic poem Padmavat. So Padmavati is now releasing as Padmavat. Padmavati also got U/A certificate, say sources in Viacom18 Motion Pictures. Now the film will be called ‘Padmavat’ as suggested by Censor Board (CBFC).

At first Padmavat was declared to be released on 26th of January but unfortunately, R Balki Padman Movie, starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte, is set to hit the screens on 26th January. So that's gone be a big box-office clash, as the makers of Padman have maintained that they will not shift the release of their film. So Padmavati sifted to 25th.

In this movie Deepika Padukone act as Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. They recently got a green signal from the Central Board of Film Certification, subject to five modifications including a change in the title from Padmavati to Padmavat. Finally, the film starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the lead will release on Republic Day weekend, i.e. on January 25, 2018.

On ticket-booking websites, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali Padmavati film says release on January 25, 2018, and that it is now named Padmavat.



Still the Shri Rajput Karni Sena, which spearheaded the agitation against Padmavat, and they demanding a total ban on the film.


Padmavat was earlier decided to release on December 1 but got stuck because of the Karni Sena claimed that the film distorted historical facts related to the Rajput community.
